Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain renowned for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Operating across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle distinguishes itself as the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe. The company is passionately devoted to cultivating a better world by elevating the fast-food experience beyond traditional norms and pioneering innovations in digital technology and sustainable business practices.
As a people-first organization deeply rooted in its core values, Chipotle places a strong emphasis on fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture at all levels of its operations. Hiring world-class individuals committed to these values is central to the company’s mission of making better food accessible to everyone. With a dedicated employee base passionate about providing exceptional guest experiences, Chipotle consistently sets industry standards in quality, customer service, and corporate responsibility.
The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle presents an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to advance in the restaurant industry while embracing Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy. This position is responsible for ensuring that the food prepared is consistently delicious, fully aligned with Chipotle’s culinary standards. Kitchen Leaders learn essential food preparation techniques including grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and cooking to order while following precise kitchen procedures to maintain food quality and safety.
Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader plays a critical role in managing kitchen operations. This includes ordering ingredients, monitoring inventory levels, minimizing food waste, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is well-maintained and functioning optimally. Kitchen Leaders act as role models within the team, guiding crew members and preparing them for leadership roles in the kitchen, thus fostering a strong team dynamic across both front and back of house.
The position involves active engagement on the floor, requiring Kitchen Leaders to stay on their feet, meet station goals, and contribute to a positive working environment by assisting teammates when needed. Through effective communication with crew members and customers, Kitchen Leaders help drive an exceptional customer experience and operational throughput.
This full-time position offers a competitive hourly base pay range between $17.65 and $19.64, supplemented by digital tips. Chipotle also extends a comprehensive benefits package including tuition assistance with 100% coverage for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free food, medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and clear career advancement opportunities—highlighted by the fact that 80% of managers began their careers as crew members.
Joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader means becoming part of a company committed not only to excellent food but to making a tangible, positive impact on the future of farming, food, and the fast-food industry. This role is ideally suited for candidates with some restaurant experience, a high school diploma, and a passion for food quality and teamwork who want to grow and develop professionally within a values-driven organization dedicated to innovation and sustainability.
