Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a leader and innovator in the fast casual dining industry, renowned for cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food made with wholesome ingredients and no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded on the belief that food served fast does not have to mean compromising on quality, Chipotle continues to revolutionize fast food through its commitment to Food With Integrity – a philosophy that underscores the sourcing of ingredients from ethical, sustainable farms and the use of cooking techniques that enhance the natural flavors of food. Operating in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle distinguishes itself by owning and operating all its restaurants in North America and Europe, ensuring consistency in quality and service.
As a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle, you will be an essential part of this mission, learning culinary skills such as grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and preparing food with precision to ensure every meal served is truly delicious. This role not only involves hands-on food preparation but also requires leadership in maintaining food quality, safety, and operational excellence within the kitchen. You will be responsible for ordering food supplies, training and mentoring crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, and fostering a collaborative, efficient kitchen environment. The Kitchen Leader plays a crucial role in promoting teamwork among both back-of-house and front-of-house crew, creating a seamless customer experience that reflects Chipotle’s high standards.
Moreover, this position demands vigilance in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment to meet health and safety standards. You will actively engage in monitoring food waste and inventory, ensuring kitchen procedures are rigorously followed, and that any kitchen issues are promptly resolved. By embodying Chipotle's core values and serving as a role model, the Kitchen Leader supports not only the quality of food but also the overall culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the restaurant.
Chipotle offers this opportunity as a full-time role with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your personal and professional growth. Employees benefit from tuition assistance for select degrees, free food during shifts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and holiday closures. Advancement opportunities abound, as evidenced by the fact that 80 percent of Chipotle’s managers began their careers as crew members. Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a purpose-driven company that is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, while delivering great food and a welcoming, engaging customer experience.
