Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a pioneering fast-casual restaurant chain known for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food with wholesome ingredients. As a leader in the food industry, Chipotle distinguishes itself by avoiding artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives and prioritizing sustainable business practices. Headquartered in the United States, Chipotle operates restaurants across multiple countries including Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. It is unique as the only restaurant company of its scale that owns and operates all its locations across North America and Europe, ensuring consistent quality and customer experience.
The company is dedicated to cultivating a better world by fostering conversations on the future of farming and food, making better food accessible to everyone, and advancing digital and technological innovations within the dining industry. Chipotle is a people-first organization that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, committed to hiring world-class talent and creating a positive work environment. They support employees with opportunities for growth, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits.
The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle offers a dynamic and engaging work experience focused on food quality, teamwork, and leadership development. This position involves learning to prepare delicious food by grilling meats and sautéing vegetables while ensuring all kitchen operations meet the highest standards for safety and cleanliness. Kitchen Leaders play a vital role in maintaining an organized and well-stocked kitchen, monitoring equipment maintenance, and supporting a strong, collaborative team. They also have the responsibility of training and mentoring Crew members to develop their skills and potentially become future Kitchen Leaders.
This is a hands-on role that requires being actively involved on the kitchen floor, handling tasks efficiently and contributing to an exceptional customer experience. Kitchen Leaders are essential in enforcing Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy, promoting sustainable food practices, and fostering a positive culture among team members both in the kitchen and front-of-house. The role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the kitchen environment.
Chipotle offers full-time and part-time employment opportunities with competitive compensation. Benefits include tuition assistance that covers 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free meals, medical, dental, and vision insurance, digital tips, paid time off, holiday closures, and ample opportunities for advancement as 80% of managers began their careers as Crew members. This role is well suited for individuals passionate about food quality, sustainable practices, and team leadership in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
