Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain that has revolutionized the fast food industry by focusing on responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food with wholesome ingredients. Unlike typical fast food establishments, Chipotle emphasizes sustainability, quality, and a mission to cultivate a better world by serving food without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Operating across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its scale that owns and operates all its locations in North America and Europe. The company values innovation, digital advancements, and sustainable business practices, making it a prominent player in the food industry and a preferred employer for those passionate about making a positive impact through food.
Chipotle is committed to creating a people-first culture that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of its operations. As an equal opportunity employer, every individual who shares in their values and purpose is encouraged to be part of the team. This commitment extends beyond providing nutritious food; it includes supporting the growth and development of employees by fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle plays a vital part in maintaining the quality and safety of the food served, ensuring that every dish meets the company's high standards. As a Kitchen Leader, you will learn essential culinary skills, including grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and preparing food that aligns with Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy. Beyond cooking, you will be responsible for managing inventory, minimizing food waste, maintaining cleanliness, and overseeing the condition of kitchen equipment to guarantee a safe and efficient workspace.
This leadership position also focuses significantly on team development. You will be a role model for Crew members, guiding and training them to become future Kitchen Leaders. The role involves fostering teamwork between the back-of-house and front-of-house staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment. Kitchen Leaders lead by example, remaining active throughout their shift by accomplishing station goals, addressing tasks as they arise, and supporting teammates.
Working as a Kitchen Leader provides a unique opportunity to engage with Chipotle's customer-first approach, ensuring great service while upholding the integrity of the food. The position is dynamic, requiring multitasking, effective communication, and a commitment to safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries. Kitchen Leaders also handle administrative tasks such as filling out material safety data sheets and managing inventory rotation.
This is a full-time role that offers numerous benefits, including comprehensive tuition assistance for select degrees, free food during shifts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, digital tips, paid time off, holiday closures, competitive compensation, and opportunities for advancement. Many Chipotle managers have started their careers as Crew members, highlighting the organization's dedication to internal growth and career progression.
Joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader means becoming part of a company that actively works to change the face of fast food by prioritizing quality ingredients, environmental responsibility, and exceptional customer experience. If you are eager to grow in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a team focused on continuous improvement and culinary excellence, this role is a perfect fit.
