The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about food quality, team development, and leadership within a dynamic kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Leader, you will play a crucial part in maintaining Chipotle's high standards by preparing delicious meals, grilling meats, and sautéing vegetables in accordance with company procedures. This position is more than just food preparation; it involves overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance, while fostering a positive and productive team atmosphere. You will be responsible for ordering supplies, minimizing food waste, and addressing any issues related to food quality. Acting as a role model, Kitchen Leaders train and develop crew members, guiding them to advance within the organization and potentially become future Kitchen Leaders themselves. The position requires active engagement and teamwork, where you will contribute directly to a great customer experience by supporting both the back-of-house and front-of-house teams.

Job Duties

  • ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • communicating with Crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
