The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about food quality, team collaboration, and leadership development within an innovative environment. As a Kitchen Leader, you are responsible for ensuring every meal prepared is delicious, safe, and aligns with Chipotle's high standards. This role involves learning skills such as grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and following strict kitchen procedures to maintain excellent food quality and safety. You will take charge of managing inventory, food waste, and ensuring the kitchen is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
In addition to hands-on food preparation, the Kitchen Leader acts as a role model and mentor for other Crew members, helping to develop their skills and prepare them to become future Kitchen Leaders. This leadership contribution strengthens a positive and efficient team dynamic between kitchen and front-of-house staff to enhance the overall customer service experience. The position requires being actively engaged on the floor, achieving station goals, identifying necessary tasks, pitching in where needed, and ensuring smooth operational flow.

- Knowledge and ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location

Job Duties
- Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
- Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues
- Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
- Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
- Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
- Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
- Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
- making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
- Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
- Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
