Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain committed to cultivating a better world through responsibly sourced, classically cooked food made with wholesome ingredients, free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a pioneer in the food industry, Chipotle is dedicated to revolutionizing fast food by offering an exceptional dining experience that goes beyond the traditional fast-food model. With locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only large-scale restaurant company that owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe, ensuring consistent quality and customer satisfaction.

Chipotle’s mission focuses on making better food accessible to everyone while emphasizing sustainability, digital innovation, and technology advancements. The company fosters a culture centered on inclusivity, diversity, and equity, aiming to create an empowering workplace for all employees. As a brand, Chipotle encourages continuous learning, evolution, and leadership development, making it a premier destination for individuals passionate about food, customer service, and community impact.

The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is a vital position responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and team dynamics in the kitchen. The Kitchen Leader oversees food preparation including cooking, grilling meats, and sautéing vegetables to ensure dishes are delicious and prepared according to company standards. Beyond food preparation, this position involves managing inventory, minimizing food waste, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functional. A critical part of the role is to maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.

This leadership role also focuses heavily on team development by training and mentoring Crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, fostering a collaborative and positive work atmosphere between front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Effective communication with both customers and team members is essential in delivering exceptional service and maintaining operational flow. The position demands someone who can thrive on their feet in a fast-paced environment, proactively identifying and completing tasks that contribute to a seamless restaurant operation.

Chipotle values experience in the restaurant industry, along with strong alignment to their Food With Integrity philosophy — a commitment to sourcing and serving real, high-quality ingredients. The company provides excellent benefits including tuition assistance, free food during shifts, comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, digital tips, paid time off, holiday closures, competitive pay, and opportunities for career advancement, with many managers having started as Crew. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow within a respected and innovative company dedicated to making a positive impact on food culture and the environment.
