Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that is revolutionizing the fast food industry by serving responsibly sourced, real food made from wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a leader and innovator in the food service industry, Chipotle operates restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The company exclusively owns and manages all of its North American and European locations, ensuring consistent quality and a unique guest experience.

Chipotle is passionate about cultivating a better world, which reflects in its mission to make better food accessible to everyone while supporting sustainable agricultural practices. The brand is recognized for pushing the boundaries in digital technology and sustainable business practices, making it one of the most forward-thinking companies in the food industry. Chipotle fosters a culture that emphasizes teamwork, diversity, equity, and inclusion at all organizational levels, demonstrating a people-first approach rooted in strong company values.

The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individuals who want to contribute to the company’s mission by ensuring the food served is delicious and prepared with care. Kitchen Leaders are instrumental in maintaining food quality by learning to cook and prepare menu items such as grilled meats and sautéed vegetables to Chipotle’s high standards. This role extends beyond food preparation. It requires leadership in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and safely, and managing inventory and food quality issues diligently.

In this position, Kitchen Leaders not only perform their own station tasks but also serve as mentors to Crew members, helping to develop them into future Kitchen Leaders. They embody the company’s value of teamwork by supporting both front-of-house and back-of-house operations to create a seamless customer experience. While on their feet during shifts, they multitask by accomplishing daily station goals, anticipating operational needs, and stepping in to assist teammates whenever necessary.

Chipotle’s Kitchen Leader role offers a meaningful career path with training and leadership development opportunities. Alongside the direct impact on food preparation and quality, leaders maintain compliance with health and safety standards, including proper sanitation practices and equipment maintenance. Regular duties include completing safety documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and adhering to inventory rotation principles like first-in-first-out (FIFO). Collectively, these responsibilities ensure that the kitchen runs efficiently and safely while delivering a superior customer experience.

Becoming a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle also means joining a company that values your growth and well-being. The company offers competitive compensation and benefits such as tuition assistance, medical and dental insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement. Chipotle is proud that a significant percentage of its managers began their careers as Crew members, highlighting the potential for upward mobility within the company.

This role at Chipotle is ideal for individuals passionate about food, leadership, and creating positive change in the fast food industry through innovation and integrity. If you have restaurant experience, a strong work ethic, and are eager to lead by example, the Kitchen Leader position provides a rewarding environment to develop your skills and be part of a mission-driven company dedicated to fostering a better food future.
