The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food quality, leadership, and team collaboration within a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position focuses on preparing and cooking delicious meals that meet Chipotle's high standards, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables accurately and efficiently. Kitchen Leaders are responsible for overseeing kitchen operations to ensure the environment is clean, organized, and safe. They manage inventory, monitor food waste, maintain equipment, and enforce safety protocols to avoid accidents and injuries. Importantly, Kitchen Leaders serve as mentors and role models for Crew members, training and developing others to step into leadership positions, ultimately shaping the culture and customer experience in the restaurant. The role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach while promoting teamwork between the back of house and front of house staff. Compensation for the Kitchen Leader position ranges from $21.25 to $23.65 per hour, complemented by digital tips and a comprehensive benefits package. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Previous restaurant experience
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
  • Understanding and articulating Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous restaurant experience
  • Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Strong communication skills in the primary language of the work location
  • Leadership potential and team development skills

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • Developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • Communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired quickly
  • Ensuring that the kitchen and all crew members meet necessary guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets and managing inventory rotation (FIFO)
