The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is a key position that combines culinary skills with leadership and team development responsibilities. This role is central to maintaining the high standards of food quality and safety that Chipotle is known for. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be responsible for preparing great food, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring every dish served is delicious and meets Chipotle's quality standards. Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader ensures that the kitchen is clean, organized, well-stocked, and that all equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition. A critical aspect of the role is to foster teamwork between the back of house and front of house crews, serving as a role model and mentor for crew members. You will take a lead role in training and developing crew to become future Kitchen Leaders, promoting a positive work environment and driving operational excellence. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and a passion for food and customer service. Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • communicating with crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • ensuring that the kitchen itself and all crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • filling out material safety data sheets and inventory rotation
