Job Description
Buffalo Wild Wings, often referred to as BWW, is a leading casual dining restaurant chain known for its vibrant atmosphere centered around wings, beer, and sports. With a unique combination of game-time energy and a welcoming environment, BWW provides guests with an exceptional experience that rivals the excitement of being at the stadium itself. This restaurant chain specializes in offering a wide variety of wings with numerous sauces and seasonings, alongside a broad selection of beers and other popular American food items. The franchise operates through independent franchise owners such as SC Wings, LLC, which manage their employees independently and provide specific wage and benefit programs tailored to their locations.
The role of Kitchen Lead at Buffalo Wild Wings is integral to the smooth and efficient operation of the Heart of House team. This leadership position demands a proactive and hands-on individual who can supervise kitchen staff, organize workflow, and maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety. The Kitchen Lead acts as the cornerstone for all kitchen operations, ensuring that every station from chip preparation to grilling, shakes, southwest station, and expo is running optimally and delivering food up to BWW’s standards.
A notable aspect of this role is the dynamic and fast-paced environment where the Kitchen Lead must excel in communication, organization, and team leadership. This position requires not only the ability to oversee daily prep and production but also to maintain hygiene protocols, manage inventory and waste, and constantly evaluate equipment performance. The Kitchen Lead must be able to adapt to the demands of the restaurant floor, support their team across various stations, and foster a positive working environment to promote teamwork and growth.
The position reports directly to the Kitchen Manager and is considered a management-level role within the restaurant's staffing hierarchy. As the lead, the individual is entrusted with delegating tasks, tracking food waste, ensuring proper food rotation to avoid contamination, and assisting in inventory orders. The Kitchen Lead also plays a pivotal role in quality control by assessing delivered food supplies and maintaining consistent cooking standards.
Additionally, the Kitchen Lead will be required to specialize in various kitchen stations including chip station, responsible for preparation and fryer maintenance; grill station, involving the preparation of grilled meats; shake station, focusing on sauces and wing holding temperature; southwest station, managing wraps and salads; and expo station, which acts as the communication hub between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely and quality service.
This full-time role demands physical stamina as the individual may need to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds intermittently during the course of their shift. The ability to work under high intensity and pace for extended periods is essential. Reliability and adherence to schedule are crucial, with expectations to cover shifts and maintain consistency in service delivery.
This opportunity offers a dynamic working environment with growth potential, team member discounts, and a flexible schedule, making it an attractive position for motivated individuals looking to build or advance their management career in the restaurant industry. Working with SC Wings, LLC, a trusted franchisee of Buffalo Wild Wings, the Kitchen Lead gains the chance to be part of a community-oriented team that values leadership, dedication, and excellence in food service.
