The Kitchen Cook position entails preparing a variety of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines, helping maintain consistency and high quality across meals prepared. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience as a cook or similar culinary role
  • knowledge of cooking methods and food preparation principles
  • certification in food safety is required or willingness to obtain it
  • strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and guidelines
  • good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical kitchen tasks safely
  • adherence to workplace safety and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • Former engagement as a cook or in a relevant culinary capacity
  • sound comprehension of cooking methods and principles essential for food preparation
  • being familiar with food safety standards and sanitation practices is important
  • obtain the essential certification for food safety, if not already secured
  • foundational skills in mathematics and counting
  • proficiency in communication and the ability to work well in a team setting
  • attaining a high school diploma or its equal is favored, though not compulsory

Job Duties

  • Create a diverse selection of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines
  • arrange work areas with the necessary ingredients and tools for the task at hand
  • arrange ingredients by cutting, trimming, measuring, blending, and similar tasks
  • safely operate a range of kitchen tools and appliances including knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers to prevent accidents or injuries
  • prepare and cook dishes through baking, broiling, roasting, steaming, and other culinary processes
  • present and distribute meals according to specific standards for their appearance and quantity
  • abide by the recommended food safety protocols and store food in the appropriate manner
  • maintain the hygiene of kitchen surfaces, machinery, and tools through cleaning and disinfecting
  • provide outstanding service to customers while keeping a positive mindset
  • ensure full adherence to Aramark's safety and sanitation policies
  • ensure the security of organizational properties
