Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a cook or in related culinary role
- Knowledge of cooking methods and food preparation techniques
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one
- Basic math skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
Job Qualifications
- Former engagement as a cook or in a relevant culinary capacity
- Sound comprehension of cooking methods and principles essential for food preparation
- Being familiar with food safety standards and sanitation practices is important
- Obtain the essential certification for food safety, if not already secured
- Foundational skills in mathematics and counting
- Proficiency in communication and the ability to work well in a team setting
- Attaining a high school diploma or its equal is favored, though not compulsory
Job Duties
- Create a diverse selection of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines
- Arrange work areas with the necessary ingredients and tools for the task at hand
- Arrange ingredients by cutting, trimming, measuring, blending, and similar tasks
- Safely operate a range of kitchen tools and appliances, including knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers, to prevent accidents or injuries
- Prepare and cook dishes through baking, broiling, roasting, steaming, and other culinary processes
- Present and distribute meals according to specific standards for their appearance and quantity
- Abide by the recommended food safety protocols and store food in the appropriate manner
- Maintain the hygiene of kitchen surfaces, machinery, and tools through cleaning and disinfecting
- Provide outstanding service to customers while keeping a positive mindset
- Ensure full adherence to Aramark's safety and sanitation policies
- Ensure the security of organizational properties
