The Kitchen Cleaner role at Michigan Dining is integral to maintaining the sanitary and safe environment necessary for smooth kitchen operations. Working primarily onsite at the Ann Arbor campus with a full-time and regular employment status, employees in this role work Sunday through Thursday from 3:30 pm to midnight, with Fridays and Saturdays off. The hourly wage for this position ranges between $20.42 and $21.62, corresponding to an annual salary approximately between $42,473.60 and $44,969.60. The position is represented by the AFSCME union, ensuring collective bargaining protection covering wages, benefits, working conditions, and other employment terms.
As a Kitchen Cleaner, you will be responsible for various cleaning duties to maintain a hygienic food preparation area, including emptying trash bins, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning kitchen equipment, filtering fryers, cleaning hood vents and drains, and washing dishes, pots, and pans. Your work will be essential in upholding HACCP standards and health codes, ensuring food safety compliance in all kitchen areas. You will collaborate with fellow kitchen cleaners and kitchen staff to maintain an orderly and safe work environment conducive to culinary excellence.
