This Overnight Kitchen Cleaner role is essential to the seamless operation of the hotel’s food services. Job Requirements
- Must be able to work long hours
- This position requires continuous standing, full mobility, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and on occasion up to 70 pounds
- Must be physically fit for frequent standing, walking, twisting, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and kneeling
- You must be available to work overnight
- Must comply with all safety and operating procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of cleaning products and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical capability to perform heavy duty cleaning tasks
- Good communication skills with co-workers and management
- Willingness to work overnight shifts
- Customer service oriented attitude
Job Duties
- Help maintain safety in the kitchen by clearing spills promptly, keeping all kitchen equipment, oven vents, all floor, wall, and cook surfaces, thoroughly clean
- Prepares ovens, sinks and other dirty restaurant equipment for cleaning
- Uses ice, water and cleaning solvent in the cleaning of restaurant kitchen equipment
- Empty, wash, and return trash bins over 3/4 full
- Dispose of all trash and recyclable material in the appropriate way
- Clean and sanitize all areas of the kitchen and operate the dishwashing machine in a safe, accident-free manner
- General overall cleaning of all kitchens and B.O.H. areas in order to be prepared for next day
- Sweeping and mopping of all walk-ins nightly
- Be able to follow exact instructions of deep cleaning projects of the back of house with sense of urgency as required from time to time including the employee cafeteria
- Cleans and wipes down tables and chairs
- Responsible to learn uses and safety instructions of all cleaning products
- Follow kitchen cleaning schedule throughout the night
- Assist management in maintaining a clean an organized building at all times
- Maintain organization of all smallwares in each kitchen
- Conduct proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment in the kitchen, food production and storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness of all floors, mats, ovens, vents and kitchen equipment
- Comply with all standard operating procedures and policies of the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa
- Mops, sweeps, strips, grinds and polishes floors
- Maintain grease traps nightly
- Vacuums carpets
- Cleans public restrooms from time to time
- Smiles and is friendly when interacting with co-workers, guests and property employees
- Follows all required safety and standard operating procedures
- Asks supervisor or other employees for help when needed
- Is open to coaching and feedback from supervisor and makes improvements
- Works weekends and holidays
- Report anything that needs immediate attention to the appropriate manager
- Work with all restaurant staff to better serve guest
- Always on time and in proper uniform at beginning of shift including proper
