The Kitchen position at Schlotzsky's plays a crucial role in executing the brand's standards to maintain product quality and recipe accuracy consistently. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old to operate certain kitchen equipment
  • Must be competent and knowledgeable in procedures for all kitchen and guest service stations
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to lift a full 33-gallon trash bag from a container
  • Must be able to stand and walk for a scheduled shift
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, push, and kneel to access certain products or clean certain restaurant areas
  • Must perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Must be able to perform repetitive cutting movements with a sharp knife
  • Must be able to handle hot foods by hand for several seconds at a time during a scheduled shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a fast-casual kitchen environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and preparation guidelines

Job Duties

  • Follow preparation standards for vegetables, meats, and cheeses and prepare quantities shown on daily PAR sheets
  • Use gloves when slicing meats
  • Cover, label, and store all vegetables, meats, and cheeses at proper temperatures
  • Prepare all salad mixes according to recipe standards and procedures
  • Prepare all soups according to recipe standards and procedures
  • Slice buns according to established procedures and wear gloves when performing this function
  • Clean preparation stations according to safety and sanitation guidelines at the end of each shift
  • Follow recipes and read customer tickets to accurately prepare all orders for meats, cheeses, and finishes
  • Work at a pace to maintain established restaurant service speed guidelines
  • Maintain a clean work station at all times
  • Follow recipes and read customer tickets to accurately prepare all pizza orders
  • Place pizzas on a plate or to-go container according to established norms
  • Follow recipes and read customer tickets to accurately prepare all soup and salad orders
  • Place foods on a plate or container as per established norms
  • Follow proper bakery baking procedures for all breads according to the recipe

  • Maintain correct weights and testing procedures according to the recipe

  • Prepare bakery products to meet proper shelf life
  • Supervise parking lot cleanliness and ensure debris is picked up
  • Clean tables and chairs in the patio area
  • Empty outdoor trash receptacles as needed
  • Consult with management about customer issues
  • Maintain a positive working relationship and treat all employees with respect
  • Familiarize and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a positive attitude and follow manager instructions at all times
  • Comply with strict safety and sanitation standards
  • Arrive on time for each scheduled shift
  • Comply with all uniform and personal grooming standards at work arrival and departure
