The role of Line Cook and Preop Cook at Applebee's is crucial to maintaining the restaurant's standards of quality and service. Job Requirements

Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees, dining room staff, and guests
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to six hours
Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, etc., up to 40 pounds in weight
Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication
Must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
Kitchen staff generally offered as part time restaurant job
Full time opportunities are also available
Prior experience as cook, line cook, chef, prep cook, grill cook, fry cook, or other back of the house is preferred but not required

Job Qualifications

Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively

Capability to lift pots, pans, and other kitchen items weighing up to 40 pounds
Basic reading and writing skills to facilitate communication
Finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
Prior experience as cook, line cook, chef, prep cook, grill cook, or fry cook preferred but not required
Willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

Complete all assigned prep work and set up cook's station according to restaurant standards
Maintain product presentations, product quality, and cook time standards
Prepare all menu items according to Applebee's recipes, plate presentations, and specifications
Communicate clearly with employees, dining room staff, and guests
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen work area
Assist colleagues and support team operations during busy periods
Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines while working in the kitchen
