The Recreation Program Coordinator position is an integral part of the City's Recreation Division. This role involves developing, coordinating, implementing, promoting, and supervising a diverse range of recreation programming and special events. Job Duties

  • Supervise assigned staff, volunteers, and contract instructors
  • prepare facilities for programs, rentals, and special events
  • monitor work tasks, staff scheduling and assist with payroll
  • develop and implement programs and special events by assessing stakeholder needs, scheduling program dates, reserving facilities, and collaborating with marketing to promote programs
  • maintain budget oversight including negotiating fees, preparing cost analyses, purchasing and maintaining equipment
  • act as liaison with external stakeholders to establish specialty programs
  • investigate and respond to customer inquiries and complaints and emergency situations
  • monitor resource allocation, maintain supplies and equipment, recommend budgetary needs
  • assist with report preparation and administrative tasks
  • acquire job-specific certifications and training
  • provide recommendations to improve customer service
  • represent facility or program supervisor when absent
  • coordinate and oversee special events development and operations, vendor and volunteer management
  • develop community events, partnerships, and sponsorship acquisitions
  • handle event correspondence and surveys
  • manage event bookings and permits for public events
  • assist organizations with special event permit processes
  • perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
  • ensure compliance with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • travel to city buildings and meetings as required
  • work overtime or outside of normal business hours as necessary
