Job Description

Outagamie County is a dedicated governmental organization committed to providing high-quality services and support to its residents. Known for its values of being Invested in Serving, Better Together, Create Progress, and Support Through Compassion, the county fosters a positive, inclusive, and productive environment for both employees and the community. The county operates various programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life, especially for vulnerable populations such as senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. Among its many initiatives, the Nutrition Program plays a significant role in ensuring that eligible homebound participants receive nutritious meals to support their health and well-being. This program exemplifies Outagamie County's commitment to serving all members of its community with dignity and respect.

The position of Home Delivered Meals Transporter within Outagamie County's Nutrition Program is an essential non-benefit eligible role focused on the transportation and delivery of meals to eligible homebound participants, specifically serving the Kaukauna service area. This role is vital to the success of the county's nutrition outreach, ensuring that meals are delivered safely, timely, and within required health standards. The workweek is Monday through Friday, approximately from 11 AM to 1 PM, and the position is expected to continue until the beginning of May.

The Transporter is responsible for the logistical aspects of meal delivery, including transporting the packaged meals from designated starting locations to participants' residences and then to an end location. This task requires not only reliable transportation but also the ability to adhere to strict guidelines ensuring meal safety, such as monitoring food temperatures to remain within state-recommended ranges. Care and compassion are key attributes for this role, as Transporters must interact with participants respectfully, empathetically, and patiently while maintaining professionalism.

This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, able to work independently, and capable of following instructions while demonstrating flexibility in adapting to changes. Attention to detail, especially in record keeping and timely reporting of delivery issues, is crucial to maintaining the program’s effectiveness and compliance with state guidelines.

Outagamie County places a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring an equitable community and workforce where every team member can thrive. Employees are supported in an environment where the voices of under-represented and historically excluded communities are amplified and barriers to equity are actively removed. The County encourages open dialogue about accommodations for individuals with disabilities to foster an inclusive workplace. Interested candidates should note this role is non-benefit eligible, meaning it does not provide traditional employee benefits; however, mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate, reflecting the County’s commitment to fair compensation for transportation-related expenses.

Applicants should possess a valid driver's license, have access to reliable transportation, and have experience or a willingness to work with older adults or persons with disabilities. Graduation from high school or an equivalent credential is required. The County values qualities such as sensitivity to participant needs, effective communication, independent working ability, and the physical capability to handle meals and related items safely.

Joining Outagamie County means becoming part of a community-focused team dedicated to making a difference through compassion, respect, and service. Those interested in contributing to the Nutrition Program’s mission will find this an excellent opportunity to impact lives positively through the vital task of meal delivery and participant engagement.
