Job Description

The Kalispel Tribe of Indians is a federally recognized Native American tribe located in northeast Washington State. Job Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License
  • Valid health card
  • Hepatitis A vaccination
  • Mandatory Alcohol Server Training certification
  • Available and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Employment contingent on favorable background investigation
  • Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 65 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and move continuously during shifts
  • Good vision including color vision and ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One to three months related experience or equivalent education and training
  • Experience working as a waiter or waitress preferred
  • Excellent customer relations and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle cash and give proper change
  • Skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure
  • Ability to learn and operate the POS system
  • Knowledge of wine and beverage service

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with Kalispel Tribe of Indians Washington State regulations and KGCC policies and procedures
  • Use the POS system as trained
  • Greet guests in a Kalispel friendly manner with a smile and upbeat attitude
  • Explain daily specials in detail and recommend appealing menu items
  • Take beverage and food orders in the proper sequence by seat number
  • Serve orders with women served first
  • Clear dishes and glassware politely asking if guests are finished
  • Present guest checks and explain the payment process
  • Collect payments and provide change
  • Provide constant, attentive, and friendly service
  • Educate guests about daily specials and answer questions
  • Be knowledgeable about wine and wine pairing
  • Communicate guest issues to supervisor promptly
  • Maintain orderly and neat payments throughout shift
  • Sell and refill beverages and alcoholic beverages
  • Maintain assigned sections and workstations
  • Assist other servers to ensure teamwork
  • Complete side work to maintain clean and stocked server stations
  • Perform necessary paperwork and record tips
  • Relay complaints, problems, or positive remarks to shift supervisor
  • Attend all training meetings
  • Assist in other projects as directed
  • May serve as a panelist for Internal Review Board hearings
