Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with no traffic violations within the last three years
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently
- Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to maintaining kitchen cleanliness and adherence to health standards
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and production schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Qualifications
- At least five years of professional kitchen experience
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience
- Experience in full-service or upscale restaurant environments preferred
- Proficient knowledge of sautéing, broiling, poaching, boiling, steaming, and braising
- Ability to prepare soups, stocks, and sauces
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Supervise teammates in the kitchen
- performance of assigned staff and ensure that all procedures are completed to department standards
- Implement and create new menu items and/or daily specials with direction from the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef
- Aid Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef with physical inventories at month end
- Track invoices and labor to maintain cost controls
- Assist Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef with scheduling kitchen staff and ensure staff follows schedule accordingly
- Create and implement use of prep lists to keep production on schedule
