Located at 640 Hawthorne Avenue SE, Salem, OR, Residence Inn Salem, a property managed by Highgate, currently seeks a highly motivated Sales Manager. This role is crucial in driving revenue through effective market segmentation and client engagement strategies. The Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting and maintaining strong relationships with accounts within their market segments, prospecting new business opportunities, and closing deals that contribute to the hotel’s revenue targets. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in hotel industry or related field preferred
- proficiency in Windows and office productivity software
- strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Attend daily Highgate Hotel Business Review meeting
- develop full working knowledge of hotel operations including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations
- ensure adherence to company sales policies and SOPs by sales team
- meet or exceed set sales goals
- operate within sales expense budget
- participate in manager-on-duty and weekend office coverage as scheduled
- initiate and follow up on leads
- maintain active sales solicitation program
- monitor production and trends of top accounts
- regularly contact existing accounts per Account Coverage Program
- meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals
- invite clients for entertainment, lunches, tours, and site inspections
- assist in special promotions related to direct sales segments
- prepare required reports timely
- conduct professional site inspections
- use computerized sales management system for business management
- meet and greet onsite contacts
- abide by Prime Selling Time
- develop networking through community and professional association participation
- review meeting planner evaluations for follow-up
- entertain clients
- handle inquiries as part of Inquiry Day Program
