As a full-time Shift Leader at Jersey Mike's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of daily store operations alongside the General Manager. The Shift Leader is responsible for maintaining the store’s exceptional order and ensuring that all staff members perform their duties efficiently and effectively. Your leadership will directly influence the customer experience, operational efficiency, and overall team morale.

In this role, you will be the driving force in executing systems and procedures with 100 percent integrity, setting a high standard for the team. You will greet customers, take and input orders, and ensure timely service of food and beverages in a welcoming environment. Additionally, you will work hands-on with the line team to prepare cold and hot subs tailored to customer preferences, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards.

The Shift Leader’s responsibilities also extend to maintaining cleanliness within the restaurant, including servicing restrooms, washing kitchen utensils, and keeping dining areas spotless to create a comfortable atmosphere for guests. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will coordinate work schedules, train new employees, and address any interpersonal issues within the team. Handling customer concerns professionally to uphold Jersey Mike's standards is another critical aspect of the role.

This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring operational coverage at all times. Physical stamina is necessary to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds as part of daily tasks. Job Duties

  • Greet customers, record orders, and serve food and beverages with a consistently positive and helpful attitude, including answering questions about the menu
  • Input orders into a point-of-sale system and accept payment using a credit card reader or cash register, calculating change accurately and quickly as required
  • Work together with the line team to prepare cold and hot subs to customer specifications, while following cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements
  • Use specific kitchen machinery such as knives, grills, slicers, etc.
  • Ensure restaurant cleanliness daily by clearing and wiping tables, sweeping and mopping floors, washing and sanitizing kitchen utensils, and servicing restrooms
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to create work schedules, train new employees, and resolve any interpersonal issues as needed
  • Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally and calmly to resolve problems according to Jersey Mike's standards and policy
  • Maintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing required uniform and adhering to a corporate dress code
