Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a culinary role specifically within an Asian or Japanese restaurant setting
  • Knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques and menu items
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within an Asian restaurant or food service setting

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook traditional Japanese dishes including Teriyaki, tempura, ramen, and other menu items with precision and attention to detail
  • Assist in menu planning and recipe development to ensure consistency and quality
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in accordance with health regulations
  • Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
  • Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presentation standards
  • Manage kitchen inventory including ordering supplies and rotating stock
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service
  • Adhere to all safety protocols including proper knife skills and handling of kitchen equipment
  • Support catering events or special functions as needed
