KBS currently has an immediate opening for the position of Porter on their Janitorial Services Team. This hourly, non-exempt role offers a starting pay of $12 per hour with evening shifts available from 5pm to 9pm. The core responsibility of a Porter at KBS involves providing excellent cleaning services at high-volume, heavy-traffic sites or functioning as an individual crew member onsite. Excellent customer interaction skills are essential, as Porters engage with customers daily, respond to their specific requests, and maintain positive relationships.

Porters at KBS must demonstrate a broad knowledge of cleaning and janitorial processes while managing daily janitorial duties efficiently. Customer satisfaction and timely execution of tasks are top priorities in this role. Beyond cleaning, Porters may also provide leadership by offering solutions to various challenges that arise during their shifts. With the support of management, they contribute significantly to the overall cleanliness, safety, and operational flow of facilities serviced by KBS.

The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift and move items up to 49 pounds, standing and walking for extended hours (up to 10-12 hours), and the capacity to follow detailed written instructions accurately. Since effective communication is critical, Porters need to be proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, procedures manuals, and chemical handling documents, typically provided in English, and occasionally in Spanish where required by state law.

To enhance operational efficiency, KBS utilizes the KBSPresence mobile timekeeping software, which requires all non-exempt employees to clock in and out using their personal mobile devices.
