The role of Janitor At Guardian Equipment plays a critical function in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of the manufacturing facility and its surrounding grounds. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this full-time position is based at the company’s Chicago headquarters and offers a starting hourly pay rate of $17.50, with an additional $1.25 bonus for perfect attendance. Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning of various facility areas such as restrooms, loading docks, stockrooms, shipping zones, and production floors. The janitor will also manage outdoor upkeep including seasonal snow removal to ensure safe walkways and driveways. In addition to daily and seasonal tasks, the position requires preventative maintenance activities such as inspecting and cleaning emergency exit lights, fire alarms, strobe lights, sirens, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment throughout the plant. This role demands a strong awareness of safety protocols and the ability to handle cleaning equipment and supplies responsibly. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience in janitorial roles within manufacturing, commercial, or industrial settings and be physically capable of lifting up to 35 pounds.
