Job Description
ServiceMaster Clean is a well-established professional cleaning company, renowned for over 60 years for its commitment to exceeding customer expectations by delivering exceptional cleaning and maintenance services. The company operates through an extensive, adaptable network that enables it to dominate the cleaning service industry in both scale and scope. ServiceMaster Clean is characterized by five key attributes that make it stand out: expertise in the field, a committed customer focus, comprehensive and proactive service delivery, a driven approach to continuous improvement, and steadfast consistency in providing ongoing customer satisfaction. This culture has made ServiceMaster a trusted name in cleaning services across various types of facilities, including offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, and commercial properties.
The role available is for a Custodian/Janitorial position within a ServiceMaster Clean franchise, independently owned and operated. This role is crucial in creating and maintaining cleaner, healthier environments in the buildings and grounds of the company's customers. The position entails performing essential cleaning duties using ServiceMaster’s products, tools, and procedures. Candidates must be willing to work night shifts that are typically 2.5 to 3 hours long, five days a week, totaling 18 or more hours per week. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who possess or are willing to develop a strong work ethic and are looking for a stable job with potential career advancement. ServiceMaster provides paid training to equip employees with necessary skills, making it accessible even for those without prior extensive experience.
Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash removal, window cleaning, and moving furniture and equipment. Additionally, maintaining inventory management of supplies and equipment and using proper personal protective equipment is required. Custodians must manage facility access by opening and locking buildings and managing security systems. While one to two years of experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles are preferred, it is not mandatory as thorough on-the-job training will be provided. Flexibility, the ability to work in a fast-paced and multitasked environment, dependability, positive attitude, and good communication skills in English are important for success in this role. Physical demands include standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
ServiceMaster Clean offers competitive pay ranging from $17.50 to $20.00 per hour, with additional benefits such as free uniforms, opportunities for advancement, and a positive work atmosphere that supports employee development through training programs. The franchise prides itself on providing a balanced work-life environment and a clear career path aligned with employee interests and goals. The team culture emphasizes respect for coworkers and customers, reliability, and uniform professionalism, which helps foster a cohesive and productive workplace. Joining this team means becoming part of a diverse community dedicated to delivering top-tier cleaning services and supporting one another to achieve shared objectives in a professional setting.
Ultimately, this custodian role at ServiceMaster Clean offers a rewarding employment opportunity with a company that values expertise, commitment, completeness, drive, and steadfastness, ensuring that employees are supported and customers consistently receive the highest standards in cleaning. Those interested can apply directly to the local franchise owner, who manages all hiring decisions, for a chance to contribute to a company known nationwide for excellence and integrity in the cleaning industry.
