Job Description
This is a hiring opportunity for two open positions within a reputable government establishment, specifically catering to a Veteran Affairs (VA) medical facility. The organization is dedicated to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for veterans, patients, staff, and visitors alike. By ensuring strict adherence to cleanliness and sanitation standards, the facility upholds the health and safety protocols necessary in clinical and government settings. The employer offers a competitive wage of $17.75 per hour for first shift positions running Monday through Friday, emphasizing a stable work schedule for suitable candidates.
The available roles are custodial positions requiring dedicated individuals who will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining various assigned areas including offices, lavatories, restrooms, and other premises within the VA medical facility. The custodians will undertake a wide range of cleaning duties spanning sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, dusting, and more, all essential for creating a sanitary environment. The job demands attention to detail and a conscientious approach, with responsibilities including the use of hospital-grade cleaning agents and germicides to ensure surfaces such as sinks, toilets, and faucets are sanitized effectively.
In addition to routine cleaning, custodians will also manage waste disposal in compliance with safety regulations, maintain the functionality of industrial cleaning equipment, and replenish supplies in designated areas. This role is critical in supporting the operational efficiency and hygiene standards in a clinical setting, requiring the incumbents to interact considerately with patients, staff, and visitors. Military veterans are preferred candidates, given the nature of the VA facility, but all qualified individuals with proven custodial experience are encouraged to apply.
Employees will benefit from a comprehensive package, including paid holidays, medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid vacation after one year of employment, and sick time. The employer is committed to supporting their workforce with both competitive remuneration and meaningful benefits, fostering a positive and secure work environment. This position is particularly suitable for individuals who enjoy physical, hands-on work and take pride in maintaining cleanliness to the highest standards in a healthcare context.
