The role available is for a Janitorial Team Member working under the direction of the Superintendent and General Foreman. This position requires performing general cleaning and maintenance tasks across various company facilities and customer locations. The responsibilities are diverse and include janitorial duties, handling industrial-grade cleaning chemicals, and sometimes managing teams and creating schedules. The job offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and physically engaging environment where attention to safety is critical. Employees will be expected to perform their duties following company safety standards, complete their work according to the schedule, and address specific requests from customers and building managers. The role encompasses tasks such as loading and unloading equipment into buses and company vans, navigating uneven walking surfaces, performing stair cleaning including climbing, sweeping, and mopping, and working with strong industrial cleaning chemicals like bleach, Lysol disinfectant, and ammonia-based cleaners. Janitorial duties include emptying and re-lining trash receptacles, carrying heavy bags of trash, handling supplies like toilet paper and paper towels, sweeping and mopping large floor areas, dusting, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning diverse surfaces such as countertops, tables, microwaves, coffee bars, water coolers, windows, glass, walls, doors, and designated smoking areas.

The job also involves physically demanding activities such as lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, moving chairs and tables, pushing and pulling janitorial carts, and exposure to high temperatures and various weather conditions. Additionally, there is the responsibility of cleaning sensitive laboratory areas where potential exposure to additional chemicals exists. For candidates interested in leadership, the position includes creating weekend schedules and managing a team of janitors to ensure smooth operations and adherence to cleaning standards.

This janitorial position requires steel toe boots with defined heels for safety and a valid driver's license to facilitate transportation between sites. Candidates will work with chemicals, including Clorox Clean-up with Bleach, Bleach, Lysol Disinfectant Spray, Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Pledge Furniture Polish, Mr. Clean All Purpose Cleaner, Glass Cleaner with Ammonia, Lime Away, and Comet.
