The role of Jacket Potato Assistant Manager is a vital position within Toot'n Totum, designed to support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant. This position demands a hands-on leader who can ensure that food preparation and presentation meet the highest standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The Assistant Manager is crucial in supporting team performance through effective leadership, coaching, and training efforts. Responsibilities include managing workflow, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and assisting in managing budgets, payroll, and inventory.

The Jacket Potato Assistant Manager is expected to cultivate a positive atmosphere that fosters guest satisfaction and team cohesion. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel/crawl, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat, drive and use keyboard
Lift/pull up to 50lbs daily
Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, kitchen machinery and equipment
Basic reading, writing and math skills
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language
Must be able to work irregular hours, including weekends
Ability to work in wet, humid, or hot environments
Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
Must follow safety and sanitation regulations
Maintain a reliable telephone service

Job Qualifications

Experience managing others preferred but not required
General knowledge of cooking techniques, meats, and equipment
General knowledge of knife handling and safety glove requirement guidelines
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Acts with integrity and professionalism
General knowledge of basic computer operations and software
Experience in the food service industry is an advantage

Job Duties

Support the Jacket Potato General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations
Oversee food preparation and cooking activities to ensure all items meet recipe standards, proper temperatures, consistency, and presentation requirements
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations, and verify that team members consistently follow required procedures
Proper cash handling and adherence to restaurant financial processes
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, promptly and professionally and advise Jacket Potato General Manager
Assist in scheduling, payroll and labor cost management
Assist in managing budgets, food costs, labor costs, inventory, and supplies
Monitor and report on food costs, wastage, and other expenses related to the menu
Assist in developing and testing new recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Maintain and manage related equipment, ensuring they are cleaned, serviced, and in good working conditions
Complete necessary health inspections and certifications as required by local regulations such as Food Handler’s (required) and TABC (if applicable)
Supports and facilitates organizational changes, continuous improvement and communication
