Job Requirements
- IT-related experience demonstrated by paid or unpaid work or training
- meeting the basic 2210 IT management competency requirements including attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, problem solving
- specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS grade level
- one year of specialized experience for GS-7 or above
- thorough knowledge of cybersecurity principles
- ability to assess networks, endpoint security, vulnerability scanning, DNS, operating systems, and databases using STIGs
- proven problem-solving and communication skills
- applicants must submit transcripts for eligibility
- possession of competencies equivalent to GS/GG-12 or higher
- ability to perform at higher complexity and responsibility levels
Job Qualifications
- IT-related experience in cybersecurity assessment or related fields
- familiarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- knowledge of cybersecurity principles and networking concepts
- ability to conduct risk assessments and impact analysis
- skills in preparing detailed technical audit reports
- effective oral and written communication
- teamwork and collaboration skills
Job Duties
- Conduct advanced security assessments using Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- provide expert cybersecurity analysis to identify technical and procedural vulnerabilities
- prepare audit reports with recommended remediation strategies
- utilize risk management processes to assess and mitigate cybersecurity risks
- collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordinated cybersecurity efforts
- develop specialized expertise in cybersecurity domains including networks, endpoint security, and databases
- contribute to strategic cybersecurity initiatives that strengthen national security
