Job Description

Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites (MCCFC) is a prominent leader in the advanced materials industry, specializing in the production and development of carbon fiber and related composite materials. Formed through a strategic merger of two California-based companies, Grafil and Newport Adhesives and Composites, in 2013, MCCFC has since evolved and rebranded, enhancing its capabilities and expanding its footprint across the United States through multiple acquisitions. The company's core operations focus on delivering high-quality products that meet the growing global demand for lightweight, durable, and high-performance materials used in a variety of sectors including aerospace, automotive, industrial, and renewable energy.

MCCFC prides itself on its commitment to responsiveness, quality, and exceptional customer support. These values are integral to its operations and are reflected in the company's continuous efforts to improve manufacturing processes and facility capabilities. The company fosters an innovative environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth, making it an attractive employer for those seeking to develop their careers in a dynamic and technologically advanced field.

The role of an Entry Level In-Process/QC Inspector at MCCFC offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to maintaining high standards in composite manufacturing. This position primarily involves conducting resin content and fiber area weight testing within Unitape composite production operations. In addition, the inspector performs viscosity testing to ensure the quality and consistency of resin mixes. The job includes critical tasks such as opening and closing work orders across adhesive, woven, and Unitape product lines and maintaining comprehensive traceability of all materials and products throughout the production and testing cycle.

The Entry Level In-Process/QC Inspector plays a vital role in supporting manufacturing efforts by ensuring that all testing and inspections comply with strict quality control standards. This includes managing QC retain samples in specific storage conditions, compiling and entering test data into electronic databases, and maintaining accurate production quality records. The role demands high attention to detail and precise execution of testing methodologies to detect and report any nonconforming materials or processes promptly to appropriate personnel.

Working at MCCFC means joining a company that values safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The inspector collaborates closely with production supervisors and other departments such as manufacturing and engineering to resolve product or equipment issues that may impact quality. The work environment encourages adherence to established procedures and safety guidelines, emphasizing the importance of personal protective equipment and a safe workspace.

Compensation for this position ranges from $21.50 to $25.00 per hour, influenced by factors like experience, education, job skills, and geographic location. MCCFC offers competitive benefits starting from day one, including employee assistance programs and curated self-paced learning and development initiatives designed to support employee growth and career advancement.
