This role involves analyzing sales data and inventory information in real-time, confirming accurate retain and run-out times, while maximizing payload and on-time performance. A significant aspect of this job is the evaluation and adjustment of current and future orders considering driver capacity and customer needs. Close collaboration with Asset Specialists ensures that sourcing details are updated as changes occur, requiring the holder of this position to revise daily operating plans proactively to maintain high operational efficiency.

Communication stands as a core part of this role, involving close coordination with Load Planners, Scheduling Team Leaders, and external customers to address service-related issues effectively. Additionally, this position requires soliciting freight opportunities from both new and existing customers, contributing to business growth. The role offers a rotational shift schedule from 6 PM to 6 AM, typically covering 3 to 4 days per week, providing flexibility and a unique working environment that supports work-life balance.

Candidates for this role typically possess a high school diploma or equivalent business experience, with a degree preferred. Prior logistics dispatch or scheduling experience is advantageous, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics application software. The successful candidate must demonstrate problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently under pressure, and excellent interpersonal communication skills. A positive attitude and the capability to engage well in team settings with diverse staff and contractors are essential.

Job Duties

  • Gather monitor and analyze inventories for forecasted customers
  • Confirm accurate retain and runout times while maximizing payload and on-time performance by analyzing inventories and sales as information becomes available
  • Evaluate and adjust current and future orders based on driver capacity and customer demands
  • Coordinate with Asset Specialists to update known sourcing as changes occur and revise daily operating plan as necessary to ensure operational efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with Load Planners Scheduling Team Leaders and external customers on service issues
  • Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities
