Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in legal, business or technology related field
- 3+ years of import, export and/or technology enablement experience
- Experience with U.S. import regulations
- Knowledge of export regulations including ITAR/EAR
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Ability to perform responsibilities in a hybrid work model 2-3 days per week
- Active or attainable professional accreditation such as licensed CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, U.S. Customhouse Broker's License, Certified U.S. Export Control Officer, Certified U.S. Import Compliance Officer, or equivalent professional accreditation
- Willingness to obtain required accreditations if not currently held
Job Qualifications
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring in-person co-location 2-3 days per week
- 3+ years of experience in import, export, and/or technology enablement (operational, government, law firm, or consulting)
- Bachelor's degree in legal, business, or technology related field
- Experience with U.S. import regulations
- Knowledge of export regulations including ITAR/EAR
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on client and industry needs
- Active or in-process accreditation such as licensed CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, U.S. Customhouse Broker's License, Certified U.S. Export Control Officer (CUSECO), Certified U.S. Import Compliance Officer (CUSICO), or professional accreditation in EU Customs Law
- Prior consulting experience preferred
- Advanced degrees such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM preferred
- Foreign language skills or study abroad experience preferred
- Strong research, writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Familiarity with trade management software like SAP GTS, Oracle GTM
- Project management experience
- Ability to develop internal and external relationships and speak to import/export/technology matters
- Detail-oriented self-starter
- Experience using PowerPoint, MS Project, Access, Excel, or Visio
- SAP SD/MM certifications preferred
Job Duties
- Helping importers and exporters achieve worldwide compliance and realize efficiencies in their global supply chain
- Advising U.S. and foreign multinational companies on global import and export strategies and compliance
- Working with clients to assess and deploy technology solutions to enable international trade management operations
- Planning and compliance assistance and exploration of automated import and export solutions
- Supply chain efficiency planning including trade and security, customs valuation planning, first sale for export planning, and analysis of transfer pricing policies for customs valuation compliance
- Process improvement planning and implementation assistance
- Trade compliance audit assistance and representation before trade authorities globally
