Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 5-year relevant experience in consumer products or international purchasing
  • Experience managing international shipments including ocean and air freight
  • Proven track record in cost-saving initiatives within consumer-packaged goods
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced skills in MS Office tools
  • Knowledge of Incoterms preferred
  • Bonus for communication skills in Chinese

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 5-year experience in consumer products with potential to advance within international purchasing
  • Experience handling international shipments via ocean freight and air freight
  • Proven success leading major cost savings initiatives and cross-functional teams within consumer-packaged goods companies
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented matrix environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Skilled in planning and managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ERP system experience, particularly NetSuite
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Knowledge of Incoterms is preferred
  • Communication skills in Chinese is a bonus

Job Duties

  • Creating purchasing orders and procuring company goods and services based on an approved budget
  • Manage and maintain database of invoices, quote requests, vendor/supplier contracts, and updating it as needed
  • Reviewing all purchase-related documents for errors before it is sent to the accounting department
  • Tracking and maintaining the status of orders and reporting any delivery issues to affected supervisors
  • Analyze purchasing cycle to identify opportunities to drive operational efficiencies and holistic cost reductions
  • Responding to emergency requests and expediting orders as needed
  • Adjust orders to optimize shipments
  • Coordinate inbound logistics of products, documents, duty, and delivery
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management and facilitate and lead supplier commodity reviews for strategic suppliers
  • Identify and engage with engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and quality teams to understand commodity requirements and ensure supply base alignment
  • Understand commodities for supply chain operations specifically finished goods and material and report to the supply chain manager in the production department
  • Support the development and implementation of advantaged purchasing strategies
  • Ensure compliance with international purchasing policies and controls maintaining high integrity and ethics
  • Manage lean end-to-end inbound supply chain across company
  • Partner with quality team on resolution of quality/recall issues
  • Collaborate with production team, suppliers, designing team, and marketing team on product launches
  • Partner with freight forwarder and finance on supplier freight and pricing reconciliations and pricing submissions
  • Create monthly and annual purchase reports for management review
  • Liaise with product development, sales, CSR, and marketing teams informing them of product availability and delivery dates
  • Ensure delivery dates on the system are accurate and updated
  • Meet daily departmental reporting requirements
  • Oversee daily workflow and schedules of the department
  • Handle factory drop-ship sales and private label sales from factory to customers
