Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- eligible to work in the United States
- commitment of a minimum of two full days (16 hours) per week in the office
- provide own housing and transportation
- ability to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods
- ability to lift 20 pounds with assistance
- willing to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- ability to work with potentially dangerous animals
- successful completion of a pre-employment background check
- completion of assigned Zoo safety and training programs within two weeks of employment
Job Qualifications
- Current college student or recent graduate in public relations, communications, digital media, or a related field
- relevant college coursework or degree
- basic knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
- strong writing and editing skills
- proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro and Lightroom
- ability to work well in a team and fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Snap photos of Zoo events and daily activities
- shoot and edit video content for social media platforms
- create engaging posts and reels to generate buzz
- assist with Zoo events and promotional activities
- write copy for blogs, media advisories, press releases, and social media content
- manage and schedule posts using social content management tools like Sprout Social
- collaborate with the public relations team to maintain the Zoo's online voice and messaging
