Job Description

National Aviation Services (NAS) is a global leader in aviation services, providing ground handling, cargo, and passenger services at airports worldwide. Established with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellence, NAS has built a reputation for delivering top-quality service through skilled teams and state-of-the-art technology. As a company dedicated to growth and development, NAS promotes from within and fosters a work environment where diversity, inclusion, and respect are paramount. NAS operates at many airports, including the John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) in Columbus, Ohio, where they are actively seeking dependable, punctual, and professional interior aircraft cleaners. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall passenger experience on board various aircraft.

The role of interior aircraft cleaner at NAS involves thorough cleaning and restocking of aircraft interiors to meet stringent standards. This is a full-time position based at the CMH airport, offering potentially eligible employees various benefits. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and attention to detail when performing assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include removing all trash from aircraft, cleaning lavatories and galleys, wiping down seats, tray tables, and seatback pockets, and replacing magazines and bags as needed. Conducting thorough security searches and reporting lost and found items is also an essential part of the duties. Additionally, candidates must adhere to safety instructions when handling ground equipment and company vehicles, maintaining an organized and clean work environment throughout the aircraft, warehouse, and break room areas.

Employees are expected to work safely to avoid injury or damage to aircraft and equipment. Reporting any incidents or irregular activities to supervisors promptly ensures that safety and service levels are maintained. This role also requires adherence to company policies, wearing the proper uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) during shifts. Moreover, cleaners must be able to read and understand flight schedules, pass background checks for security clearance, and secure necessary airport badges such as the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge according to strict standards. A valid driver’s license is mandatory to operate company vehicles or equipment on airport grounds.

Physical stamina is crucial for this role, as the job demands extended periods of walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and pushing, sometimes involving carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees often work in confined spaces and are exposed to varying weather conditions. The company is committed to accommodating employees with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and related policies, ensuring an inclusive workplace.

NAS places great emphasis on the value of teamwork and a respectful attitude toward colleagues, airline personnel, and passengers. This respectful and cooperative behavior aligns with the company’s mission to provide the highest level of service. Overall, this interior aircraft cleaner position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic airport environment with a leading global aviation service provider, complete with pathways for career advancement and a focus on workplace safety and employee well-being. This role is ideal for motivated individuals looking to build a career in aviation services with a company that values diversity, inclusion, and employee development.
