The role of Interior Aircraft Cleaner at NAS, based at the ABQ - Albuquerque International Sunport Airport, is an essential position responsible for ensuring that aircraft interiors are meticulously cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. This role demands attention to detail, reliability, and a strong work ethic as the cleaner will be performing a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks that directly influence passenger comfort and safety. As an aircraft interior cleaner, the incumbent will be tasked with removing trash, cleaning lavatories, galleys, seats, and restocking necessary items such as magazines and sick bags. Additionally, the role involves conducting security searches within the aircraft and reporting any lost and found items to supervisors.

This position requires adherence to strict safety procedures, including the correct operation of ground equipment, maintenance of company vehicles, and compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have access to reliable transportation
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
  • Must secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
  • A valid driver’s license is required by airport authority in order to operate a vehicle or equipment
  • Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, lift, reach, and push for extended periods of time during the assigned shift
  • Must be capable of reading and understanding flight schedules
  • Must sign or clock in/out at the beginning and end of the scheduled shift
  • Proper uniform attire is required when reporting to work
  • Safety measures must always be taken including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during assigned shifts
  • Must adhere to rules and regulations outlined in Employee Handbook at all times
  • Must demonstrate respectful and helpful behavior to fellow employees, airline personnel, passengers, and other company employees
  • Workspaces can be confined and small
  • must be able to work in tight spaces
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to inclement weather including hot and cold temperatures is common for this role

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in cleaning or aircraft interiors preferred
  • Ability to read and understand flight schedules
  • Capable of following safety procedures and instructions
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform tasks thoroughly
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Valid driver’s license required if operating vehicles or equipment
  • Ability to comply with FAA criminal background checks for unescorted airport access
  • Eligible to secure necessary airport security badges as applicable
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Lead/Supervisor and outlined in the scope of work
  • Remove all trash from aircraft
  • Clean and restock all lavatories
  • Clean galley, all seats, seat back pockets, tray tables, and replace soiled magazines and sick bags
  • Conduct thorough security searches and submit all Lost and Found items to the immediate Supervisor
  • Review and adhere to safety instructions when operating and driving ground equipment
  • Always maintain company vehicles in a well-organized and clean manner
  • Assist in pre and post operation inspections (POIs) of vehicles during the assigned shift
  • Review posted updates on Cabin Cleaning or Ramp Operations before each shift begins
  • Ensure all break room areas, warehouse areas, and dock areas are clean and free of debris
  • Perform duties in a consistently safe manner, ensuring no damage occurs to any company vehicles, airline vehicles/equipment and/or aircraft
  • Report any injury or property damage immediately to Shift Supervisor and provide written statements as requested regarding any such injury or damages
  • Immediately notify Shift Supervisor of any irregular activities that may impact service to airline partner(s)
