Located in the scenic coastal town of Tiburon, CA, our private club is renowned for offering an exceptional member experience through superior hospitality and top-quality dining services. The club prides itself on maintaining an exclusive atmosphere where members can enjoy premium recreational facilities alongside exquisite culinary offerings. With a commitment to excellence and tradition, the club has established a reputation for outstanding food and beverage services that cater to the distinct tastes and preferences of its members. The club’s food and beverage department plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall guest experience by delivering innovative menus, impeccable service, and maintaining the highest standards of culinary arts and safety.\n\nWe are currently seeking an Interim Executive Chef for a temporary appointment to provide strong culinary leadership during a transitional period. This position is vital in ensuring continuity, quality, and consistency in all aspects of the kitchen operations while the club evaluates its long-term culinary leadership needs. Located within our food and beverage department and reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Interim Executive Chef will lead and oversee all kitchen functions with a concentration on maintaining the club’s superior culinary standards and member satisfaction.\n\nAs the Interim Executive Chef, you will take on the core responsibilities typically held by the permanent Executive Chef, ensuring that each food service outlet within the club operates smoothly and meets its high expectations. You will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, leading the development and execution of menus including the café, specials, and event menus, and enforcing food safety and sanitation standards. This leadership role involves close coordination with the Food & Beverage leadership team to maintain operational budgets, control food and labor costs, and foster a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork and professional growth.\n\nFlexibility in scheduling is essential as this role requires availability during weekends, holidays, and peak service times, including both AM and PM shifts. The position is expected to average 40 to 50 hours weekly, adapting to operational demands through the interim period. Your leadership will be critical in supporting the kitchen team, maintaining high performance, and ensuring an unmatched dining experience for the club’s discerning members and guests. This temporary role offers competitive compensation at $1,923 per week, paid according to the club’s payroll schedule. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years culinary experience with leadership responsibility
- Experience in private clubs, resorts, or high-end hospitality preferred
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, cost control, and team leadership
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations across all food service outlets
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet Club standards
- Maintain execution of the café menu, specials, and event menus
- Support successful execution of member dining and club events
- Monitor kitchen workflow to ensure efficiency and organization
- Lead, supervise, and support all kitchen staff
- Foster a professional and collaborative kitchen environment
- Mentor and support the Kitchen Manager and culinary team members
- Assist in training and development of kitchen staff
- Maintain high culinary standards that meet or exceed member expectations
- Support menu offerings that reflect the Club’s dining preferences and traditions
- Work collaboratively with the Food & Beverage team to ensure a consistently positive dining experience for members and their guests
- Interact with members in a professional, courteous, and approachable manner, fostering a welcoming and service-oriented environment
- Demonstrate respectful communication and composure when engaging with members, guests, and staff at all times
- Monitor food cost, portion control, and product utilization
- Participate in inventory control and ordering processes
- Assist with labor management and kitchen scheduling as needed
- Maintain efficient kitchen operations within budgetary guidelines
- Maintain strict adherence to health department regulations
- Ensure sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
- Monitor and enforce proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures
- Maintain strong communication with the Director of Food & Beverage
- Support coordination of club events, banquets, and special functions
- Work collaboratively with other department leaders to support club operations
- Maintain stable kitchen leadership
