Job Requirements

  • Associates degree in Emergency Medical Services or certificate of program completion in EMT/Paramedic
  • Florida Paramedic license
  • Minimum one year of experience as field Paramedic or clinical experience in hospital
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course within 60 days of hire

Job Qualifications

  • Florida Paramedic license
  • One year of experience as field Paramedic with EMS agency or clinical hospital experience
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course to be obtained within 60 days of employment

Job Duties

  • Responds to Orange Park Hospital EMS Transport Services Call-Center requests for patient transport
  • Provides care in the out of hospital setting as primary care provider during interfacility transports
  • Assesses, plans, implements intervention, and evaluates patient care according to Florida scope of practice and hospital protocols
  • Performs diverse duties within the Emergency Department requiring knowledge of protocols, medical techniques, and equipment
  • Performs EMS hand off reports at destination facilities and communicates with nursing staff and physicians
  • Ensures readiness of ambulance and associated equipment for service
  • Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety or quality of care
