Job Description

North Clackamas Schools is a well-established public school district located in Oregon that is committed to providing high-quality education to a diverse student population. The district encompasses several elementary, middle, and high schools, each dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. North Clackamas Schools embraces innovation, equity, and community involvement as key pillars in its mission to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Employing a team of skilled educators, administrators, and support staff, the district prioritizes collaborative efforts to improve student outcomes and promote lifelong learning.

Currently, North Clackamas Schools is inviting applications for Paraeducator positions for the 2025-2026 school year. These are part-time, permanent roles ranging from 3 to 7.5 hours per day, available at multiple school locations throughout the district. Paraeducators will work in both general and special education settings, offering critical support to teachers and students alike. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring an effective classroom environment by assisting with instructional duties, student supervision, and behavioral interventions. Paraeducators also help tailor learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of students, thereby fostering inclusive and positive educational atmospheres.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a desire to make a positive impact in a school community. Bilingual individuals with cultural competencies in languages common to the district, such as Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, or Vietnamese, are especially encouraged to apply due to a higher pay differential offered for bilingual employees. Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds, and the district welcomes applications even from those who may not meet every listed qualification but show a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.

Working for North Clackamas Schools means joining a collaborative and supportive team where professional development and mentorship opportunities abound. Employees benefit from competitive compensation, flexible part-time hours tailored to accommodate personal schedules, and access to valuable educational resources. Those in paraeducator roles gain substantial experience in educational settings, which can pave the way for career advancement within the district. Beyond monetary compensation, the district offers a robust benefits package including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, life insurance, employee assistance programs, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement.

In this role, paraeducators are integral to the success of students by assisting educators with instructional tasks and behavior management. They work closely with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts. The position requires a commitment to fostering a nurturing environment where every student feels valued and supported. North Clackamas Schools is dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace that respects diversity and treats all staff and students with dignity. Interested candidates who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in education are encouraged to apply for these rewarding roles.
