Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team

  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • Basic computer skills for recording and reporting
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Job Duties

  • Supervise room attendants and inspect hotel guestrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and lobbies
  • Assign work to room attendants and train personnel in housekeeping duties
  • Perform cleaning duties when necessary
  • Post room occupancy records
  • Adjust guests' complaints regarding housekeeping service or equipment
  • Write requisitions for room supplies and furniture renovation or replacements
  • Examine carpets, drapes, and furniture for stains, damage, or wear
  • Check and count linens and supplies
  • Aid in budget control through supervision of employees' use of linen, supplies, and equipment
  • Record inspection results and notify cleaning personnel of inadequacies
  • Communicate with other hotel departments regarding problems needing attention
  • Ensure key control policies are followed
  • Greet guests warmly and professionally
  • Inspect cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms, and public areas
  • Assist in scheduling staff according to standards and forecasted occupancy
  • Assign daily work tasks to employees
  • Distribute keys and work assignments
  • Complete follow-up on vacant or occupied rooms
  • Ensure completion of the Housekeepers Report and communicate room status to Guest Services
  • Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner
  • Report guest complaints or requests to appropriate departments
  • Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Display a professional image through appearance and dress
