With a workforce of over 18,000 associates, Airgas fosters a culture centered on safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. The company’s employees are empowered to bring forward ideas, take initiatives, and make impactful decisions that contribute to the overall success of the company and its customers. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide—a global leader in gases, technologies, and services for industry and healthcare—Airgas benefits from a worldwide presence across 60 countries and serves over 4 million customers and patients. Joining Airgas means becoming a vital part of an innovative and inclusive workplace where diversity is respected, honored, and valued, offering employees the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.
The Inside Sales Representative/Relief Driver role based in Laredo, TX, within a retail shop setting, combines the dynamic responsibilities of customer-facing sales and delivery driving. This is a unique hybrid position where the successful candidate will be the first point of contact for customers, both in-person and over the phone, helping them navigate product options and solutions tailored to their individual needs. Beyond sales, this role also requires the physical ability and skill to serve as a relief driver, operating commercial vehicles equipped with airbrakes and transporting hazardous materials safely to client locations. The position offers a competitive pay rate of $24 per hour along with monthly bonus potential. The schedule includes Monday to Friday day shifts with alternating on-call weekends, enabling candidates to balance work and personal life effectively.
Airgas offers a comprehensive family benefits package designed to support employees’ whole life including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D (accidental death and dismemberment), and disability insurance. Employees benefit from 14 weeks of paid childbirth leave, fostering support for growing families. Retirement and future security are prioritized through a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. Remarkably, Airgas employees gain access to benefits after only 30 days of employment, highlighting the company’s commitment to their well-being from early on.
In this role, the employee’s duties span building strong customer relationships by leveraging expert product knowledge, driving sales growth through solution-oriented customer engagement, and maintaining operational excellence by keeping the retail environment organized and efficient. Driven by a passion for customer service and a solid foundation in professional driving, this hybrid position offers ongoing learning and advancement opportunities within a safety-focused and supportive team culture. Whether facilitating inside sales or stepping in as a reliable relief driver to deliver critical gases and welding products, the candidate will play an essential role in Airgas’s delivery network and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, this position offers a rewarding career path promising a daily return home, professional growth, and membership in a top-tier company founded on safety and innovation.
