With a robust culture that embraces diversity and belonging, Aleut Federal is an employer of choice within the federal contracting space, especially for those seeking to make a significant impact in service to the government while supporting indigenous culture and community values.
Aleut Federal is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Information Technology (IT) Systems Engineer to support the 55th Training Squadron (55 TRS). This full-time position offers a competitive salary range between $110,000 and $140,000 annually, dependent on qualifications. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing, operating, sustaining, and securing all IT systems that support the 55th Training Squadron’s operations across classified and unclassified environments. This role includes comprehensive lifecycle IT services such as systems engineering, network administration, cybersecurity, help desk oversight, configuration management, and strategic technical planning. Responsibilities extend to managing NIPR, SIPR, and potentially JWICS networks, supporting over 157 physical and virtual servers and associated peripherals, and conducting preventative maintenance and software upgrades. The IT Systems Engineer will ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force cybersecurity directives, support certification and accreditation processes, and maintain security baselines. Additionally, the role involves maintaining hardware/software inventory, managing software licensing, supporting procurement processes, and planning long-term IT modernization efforts.
This position demands a candidate with a strong background in IT systems administration, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management within DoD or Air Force environments. An active or current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required, along with at least three years of hands-on experience with relevant technologies, including Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and enterprise security tools. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and customer service skills, demonstrated experience in managing classified networks, and the ability to conduct in-depth risk assessments and vulnerability analyses. The selected candidate will be integral to ensuring the ongoing reliability, security, and efficiency of critical training operations through state-of-the-art IT support and lifecycle management practices. Applicants should be prepared to begin work by April 27, with applications accepted until April 10, 2026. This role is ideal for a dedicated IT professional eager to leverage their expertise in a dynamic government contracting setting while contributing to mission success and organizational excellence.
