The role of the Baker at Saras Market & Bakery is pivotal to the daily operations and overall success of this well-established brand. The Baker is responsible for the complete process of baking pita bread, from weighing and measuring ingredients to baking and ensuring product freshness. This position requires supervising the Pita Line team, training, and mentoring team members to maintain productivity and uphold quality standards. The Baker will also be tasked with managing supply and ingredient orders, ensuring that the bakery has the necessary items to operate smoothly. Attention to detail is critical as the Baker must inspect both the pita line and the finished products to guarantee they meet the bakery's quality and safety standards. This includes adherence to health and safety regulations such as HACCP, FDA guidelines, OSHA requirements, and sanitation protocols. The Baker must work collaboratively with Store Leadership to communicate any quality or operational issues promptly. This role demands excellent organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial baking, supervisory experience, and a food handler permit, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented setting. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential to meet business demands.   • 3+ years baking for commercial business

Job Duties

  • Weigh, measure, mix, bake following Saras Market & Bakery recipe
  • Ensure temperatures inside building are optimal for proofing and baking dough
  • Supervise Pita Line team members while they are packaging, train and mentor as needed
  • Responsible for supply and ingredient orders
  • Ensure quality and freshness of product and communicate any issues to Store Leadership
  • Inspect and maintain pita line to ensure it is working properly
  • Follow and comply with all applicable procedures and regulations, including Weights and Measures, FDA, health and sanitation, Department of Labor, ADA, HAACP, OSHA and safe work practices
  • Ensure that Team Members operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner
  • Leadership may assign other duties, not listed here
