Job Description

Shelby Farms Park Conservancy (SFPC) is a nonprofit organization that manages and cares for Shelby Farms Park and Shelby Farms Greenline in Memphis, Tennessee. SFPC is dedicated to creating a celebrated 21st-century park that serves as a defining asset for the city of Memphis, offering inclusive, equitable, and free access to all residents. As one of the most significant urban green spaces in the United States, Shelby Farms Park spans 4,500 acres and includes features such as miles of trails, pristine lakes and ponds, a buffalo herd, the Woodland Discovery Playground, the FedEx Event Center, a treetop adventure course, a sprayground, and an outdoor stage. It is a cherished public space that brings together people from all walks of life, fostering community, wellness, and a connection to nature.

The Indoor Venue Senior Sales Manager plays a crucial role at Shelby Farms Park Conservancy by driving revenue growth for the indoor and semi-indoor venues within the park, which include the Event Center, Buffalo Room, and the Yurt. This full-time position focuses on developing and executing sales strategies targeted at improving venue utilization, increasing average deal size, and expanding bookings during weekdays and off-peak times. The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining an active personal sales pipeline while also overseeing the performance and sales execution of the indoor venue portfolio.

This role demands a strategic leader who can manage complex and high-value deals, coordinate with sales and events teams, and contribute to the overall mission of Shelby Farms Park Conservancy by aligning sales efforts with the park’s capacity, branding, and community priorities. By managing account executives, supporting deal strategy, and refining sales processes, the Senior Sales Manager ensures that clients receive a consistent and high-quality experience. The position also involves close collaboration with other sales and event managers across multiple business lines—venue, event, retail, and recreation—to identify cross-selling opportunities and develop innovative bundled offerings that enhance client experiences and increase transaction values.

Furthermore, the role requires familiarity with various sales systems such as TripleSeat and Fair Harbor to maintain pipeline data integrity, support forecasting, and inform pricing decisions. The Indoor Venue Senior Sales Manager contributes to sales leadership discussions by providing insights into customer trends and performance metrics, helping to shape future growth strategies. The role is primarily office-based but includes on-site venue walkthroughs and client meetings, with an expectation of a flexible schedule to cover occasional nights, weekends, or holidays according to event needs.

Working at Shelby Farms Park Conservancy means being part of a mission-driven team committed to the public good, dedicated to enhancing one of Memphis’s most beloved civic assets. SFPC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) plan with organizational match, and paid time off. In this role, candidates will have the opportunity to impact the community meaningfully while advancing their professional careers in venue sales and event management within an inclusive, equitable, and environmentally conscious organization.
