Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton is a distinguished global luxury hotel brand recognized for its exceptional hospitality and commitment to delivering world-class guest experiences. As part of Marriott International's portfolio, The Ritz-Carlton operates more than 100 award-winning properties worldwide, setting the standard for rare and special luxury service. This prestigious establishment prides itself on creating memorable and unique experiences for guests, combining elegant accommodations with top-tier service. Rooted in a culture that celebrates diversity, creativity, and compassion, The Ritz-Carlton fosters an inclusive and empowering work environment where every associate is encouraged to be their best and contribute to the brand's enduring reputation as a leader in the luxury hospitality industry.

Located at 10 Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this role offers a full-time, non-management opportunity ideal for those who want to be part of a dynamic team in a vibrant city setting. The position primarily focuses on day shifts, promising a consistent schedule to those who prefer daytime work hours.

The Guest Service Expert role at The Ritz-Carlton is far more than simply serving food and drinks. It is an opportunity to craft an experience that guests will remember long after their visit. This role involves a wide spectrum of responsibilities that go beyond traditional food and beverage service. From setting tables and communicating effectively with the kitchen staff to engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner, every interaction is designed to enhance the overall dining experience. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and order in work areas, as well as managing supplies, ensures that the operational flow supports the high standards expected by both the establishment and guests.

This role requires energetic individuals who can be on their feet for extended periods, comfortably navigating potentially uneven or slippery surfaces. Physical stamina is necessary to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds independently, or up to 50 pounds with assistance, with regular movement involving bending, twisting, reaching overhead or below the knees. Attention to detail is critical in managing menus and adhering to the company’s quality standards, which are integral to creating seamless and memorable guest experiences.

The Ritz-Carlton’s foundational principles, known as the Gold Standards, guide every team member in delivering high-caliber service. These Gold Standards include the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values that embody graciousness, thoughtfulness, and professionalism in every guest interaction. Joining this team means committing to uphold these values consistently and contributing to a workplace that values professionalism in appearance and communication.

The position does not require previous supervisory experience and welcomes candidates with less than one year of related work experience, emphasizing the company’s dedication to developing new talent within the hospitality industry. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred, but the key to success lies in the passion and dedication to providing exceptional service.

The Ritz-Carlton also takes pride in its equal opportunity employment policies, championing diversity and inclusion by valuing the unique backgrounds of all associates and committing to non-discrimination on any legally protected basis. This inclusive environment fosters a strong culture where associates feel valued and empowered to thrive, creating an atmosphere conducive to both personal and professional growth.

By becoming part of The Ritz-Carlton team, individuals will have the chance to learn from the best, work in a world-renowned luxury hospitality environment, and build a career path marked by excellence and achievement. The hotel encourages every associate to be where they can perform their best, begin their purpose, belong to an amazing global team, and become the best version of themselves. This role offers an enriching opportunity for those who are ready to contribute to a brand renowned for its dedication to quality, service, and unforgettable guest experiences.
