Nestled at 10 Avery Street, the Boston property is renowned for its impeccable attention to detail and personalized service that caters to the unique needs of every guest. With over 100 award-winning properties worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton continues to set the benchmark for sophisticated luxury, combining timeless traditions with innovative hospitality practices.
At The Ritz-Carlton Boston, the focus is on cultivating a team environment where employees, referred to as Ladies and Gentlemen, are empowered to contribute their creativity, thoughtfulness, and compassion to ensure every guest experience is memorable. The hotel embraces a culture that values diversity and inclusion, promoting equal opportunity for all associates regardless of background, disability, or veteran status. The brand's guiding principles, known as the Gold Standards, serve as the foundation upon which every interaction and service is built. These standards include the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values, which collectively embody the Ritz-Carlton’s philosophy of service excellence and guest satisfaction.
The role of a Food and Beverage Server at The Ritz-Carlton Boston is a vital part of the hotel’s commitment to delivering a luxurious and impeccable dining experience. This full-time, non-management position offers an hourly wage of $17.25 and is primarily tip-eligible, making it an attractive opportunity for hospitality professionals eager to thrive in a luxury environment. The position typically involves working the overnight shift, providing service during a critical timeframe when guests expect attentive and courteous care.
As a Food and Beverage Server, you will be responsible for serving food courses and alcoholic beverages promptly and with professionalism, ensuring that every guest’s dining experience meets or exceeds The Ritz-Carlton’s high standards. Your duties will include setting tables accurately based on the event type and service standards, answering questions related to menu selections, and communicating effectively with kitchen staff regarding order specifics, wait times, and any special dietary considerations such as allergies or requests for meal modifications. You will use the MICROS point-of-sale system to accurately record guest transactions during ordering, while regularly checking in to ensure guest satisfaction and promptly addressing any concerns.
Maintaining cleanliness in the dining and work areas is crucial to the overall guest experience, and you will be expected to complete closing duties that involve restocking and securing your workstation. Presenting accurate bills and efficiently processing payments are integral parts of the role. Importantly, this position requires strict adherence to all company policies, including safety and security procedures, and the ability to report accidents or unsafe conditions when necessary.
Physical demands are an essential consideration in this role. Servers must be capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handling objects with varying weights, sometimes requiring assistance for heavier loads. The position requires fine motor skills and good hand-eye coordination to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will also be expected to contribute positively to the team by establishing strong working relationships and supporting collective goals.
The Ritz-Carlton offers an enriching workplace where each associate can belong to an esteemed team recognized globally for excellence in luxury hospitality. The property focuses on maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism, encouraging every associate to grow and become the best version of themselves in a supportive and dynamic environment. Joining The Ritz-Carlton Boston means being part of a prestigious brand dedicated to crafting exceptional experiences that guests will cherish long after their stay ends.
