Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year of experience with US import entry process and compliance
  • strong communication skills
  • proficiency in MS Office
  • availability for occasional evening and weekend work
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school completion or equivalent
  • at least 1 year of direct US import entry process, rules, and compliance knowledge and expertise
  • professional experience in customer service operations preferably in international air freight, logistics, or distribution
  • knowledge and experience preferred in pharmaceutical and clinical trial industry
  • commitment to quality and attention to detail
  • strong customer focus
  • team player, self-dependent, motivated to succeed
  • proficient in MS Office including Excel and Word
  • unquestionable character and integrity

Job Duties

  • Review import documents for accuracy and completeness
  • ensure regulatory requirements are met and proper documentation including transit documents and customs clearances exists for shipments
  • have a strong knowledge of US import entry process, rules, and compliance
  • communicate with clients about import and customs related issues
  • troubleshoot import related customs and other government agency delays
  • ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner
  • prepare all necessary data entry and confirmation of key milestones such as departure, arrival, customs clearance
  • maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations
  • develop and maintain successful relationships with local vendors such as airline representatives, freight forwarders, custom brokers
  • communicate with customer, supply chain and the management team to ensure necessary requirements are met
  • collaborate with various on cross department activities promoting process optimization
  • interface and assist other departments with process and compliance questions that may arise regarding import shipments
