Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8 plus years of import/export compliance experience
  • strong understanding of international logistics and supply chain operations
  • knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and programs including CTPAT, ABI, GSP, FTA, HTS classification
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • ability to conduct compliance audits and process customs entries
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • experience with billing reconciliation
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred
  • 8 plus years of import/export compliance experience with international logistics knowledge
  • in-depth understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and programs including CTPAT, ABI, GSP, FTA, and HTS classification
  • proven experience in compliance audits, customs entries processing, and import billing reconciliation
  • strong analytical skills to interpret and present complex data
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • experience with AS/400 or similar import/export systems preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customs Broker License preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Track and monitor ocean and air freight shipments to ensure timely delivery and accurate documentation
  • prepare and process import entry documentation ensuring proper HTS classification and full compliance with U.S. Customs laws
  • coordinate transportation of shipments from the port of entry to warehouses or customer facilities
  • analyze and revise Generalized System of Preferences reports and ensure timely payment of duties
  • provide daily updates and proactive communication to internal departments on shipment status
  • compile, analyze, and report import data and key metrics, generate spreadsheets and management reports
  • review and validate freight invoices for accuracy and adherence to agreed rates, issue freight rate quotes
  • create customs duty billing forms in Smart Border and submit to accounting, assist with billing reconciliation
  • proactively identify and resolve transportation, documentation, and compliance issues
  • recommend and implement process improvements to enhance import operations efficiency
  • prepare and manage documentation for duty drawback programs
  • assemble and submit monthly compliance and import activity reports to headquarters
  • perform other import-related duties to support logistics operations
