Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 8 plus years of import/export compliance experience
- strong understanding of international logistics and supply chain operations
- knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and programs including CTPAT, ABI, GSP, FTA, HTS classification
- proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- ability to conduct compliance audits and process customs entries
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- experience with billing reconciliation
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred
- 8 plus years of import/export compliance experience with international logistics knowledge
- in-depth understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and programs including CTPAT, ABI, GSP, FTA, and HTS classification
- proven experience in compliance audits, customs entries processing, and import billing reconciliation
- strong analytical skills to interpret and present complex data
- proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- experience with AS/400 or similar import/export systems preferred
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customs Broker License preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Track and monitor ocean and air freight shipments to ensure timely delivery and accurate documentation
- prepare and process import entry documentation ensuring proper HTS classification and full compliance with U.S. Customs laws
- coordinate transportation of shipments from the port of entry to warehouses or customer facilities
- analyze and revise Generalized System of Preferences reports and ensure timely payment of duties
- provide daily updates and proactive communication to internal departments on shipment status
- compile, analyze, and report import data and key metrics, generate spreadsheets and management reports
- review and validate freight invoices for accuracy and adherence to agreed rates, issue freight rate quotes
- create customs duty billing forms in Smart Border and submit to accounting, assist with billing reconciliation
- proactively identify and resolve transportation, documentation, and compliance issues
- recommend and implement process improvements to enhance import operations efficiency
- prepare and manage documentation for duty drawback programs
- assemble and submit monthly compliance and import activity reports to headquarters
- perform other import-related duties to support logistics operations
